My thoughts on what happened last week …

Just a list … not complete … not necessarily in order of importance …

1. Biggest manipulation of ALL TIME!!!

2. By doing this, we are ASSURED of a WAVE of INFLATION!!!

3. A currency reform will follow!!!

4. Investment Themes are SURVIVAL and DELEVERAGING!!!

5. Recession … here we come!!!

6. Don’t think, that markets move with fundamentals … it moves only in direction of capital flows

7. I feel confirmed, that the only way to play the markets for ME is daytrading … as too many times rules are changed overnight

8. Funnily enough … the house crisis and its fallout are the biggest PROS for buying/owning real estate as real assets are king … money is getting worthless

So take care … strange world out there …

    you are totally right!
    the paper will be worthless very quickly!
    Only hard thing:house,gold,oil….but phisical.
    Not only more of 400 B$ fed def + 800 B$ com def per year (10% PLD!!!),
    now 700 B$ + 2-300 B$ (F&F) + …………
    the dollar will be crushed:

    I agree with your point No. 8, that owning real estate is now a good idea, but it may be hard to put into practice unless and until banks ease up credit for people wanting to buy. It’s still very hard to obtain r.e. loans, you see…. Of course, if you have cash, and don’t require loan, that’s a different story!

    Apropos points 1 and 2: I agree about the dilution effect that government intervention/large-scale bailout is going to have on the Dollar, and the resulting huge inflation: it seemed already to manifest itself today in the price of gold, which has climbed up over 900 dollars an ounce. I think there is still much more room on the upside for gold. And if I understand correctly, explorers and miners are having increasingly difficult time finding more gold in the Earth. Perhaps that nearly 500-carat diamond that was recently discovered is a hopeful sign that the Earth hasn’t totally run out of ‘real’ valuables…
